• • Lighting: Medium to high lighting is needed to achieve vibrant red color; lower lighting will result in more brownish-red tones.
  • Substrate: A nutrient-rich substrate is preferable.
  • Nutrients: Fertilization, especially with iron, is crucial for maintaining color and preventing chlorosis (leaf paleness). High nitrates and phosphates are also beneficial.
  • CO2: While not strictly necessary for survival, CO2 injection will lead to brighter colors and more vigorous growth.
  • Water Parameters: Prefers a temperature range of 68−82°𝐹
  • Placement: Best suited for the midground or background of an aquarium.
  • Propagation: Can be propagated by trimming the stems and replanting them.
  • Maintenance: Trim the stems regularly to encourage bushier growth and prevent the plant from becoming spindly.
